John B. Jares

JOHN B. JARES is Vice President of Investments and Portfolio Manager for
Founders Asset Management LLC. As head of the large-cap investment
team, he manages the Dreyfus Growth Fund, Dreyfus Founders Growth and
Income Fund and the Dreyfus Founders Fund. Mr. Jares also manages the
domestic portion of Dreyfus Founders Worldwide Growth Fund. Founders
Asset Management previously employed him from 1994 to 1997, as an
analyst and co-manager. Mr. Jares began his investment career at
Founders as an analyst on the large-cap team and later co-managed the
Special Fund, now known as the Mid-Cap Growth Fund. After Founders, his
growth-oriented approach was honed at Berger Funds, where he managed
balanced, growth and select products. Prior to returning to Founders,
Mr. Jares managed balanced and growth-oriented large-cap assets for
Delaware Investments. He earned a BS degree in Finance from Colorado
State University, a Master of Finance degree from the University of
Colorado at Denver, and he is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
