Joel Staff

JOEL STAFF has been President and Chief Executive Officer of National-
Oilwell since July 1993 and has served as its Chairman since January
1996. Mr. Staff has served on the Board of Directors of the Petroleum
Equipment Suppliers Association (PESA) and currently serves on the
Boards of the National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA) and the Boys
and Girls Club of Greater Houston. From 1976 to 1993, Mr. Staff was
with Baker Hughes, Inc. where he served as a Senior Vice President of
the parent company and was President of both the drilling and production
groups.
