J. Brett Harvey

J. BRETT HARVEY has been President, Chief Executive Officer and a
Director of CONSOL Energy Inc. and CONSOL Inc., since January 1998.
Prior to joining CONSOL Energy, Mr. Harvey served as the President and
Chief Executive Officer of PacifiCorp Energy Inc., a subsidiary of
PacifiCorp, one of the country’s largest electric utility companies,
beginning in 1995. Between 1993 and 1995, Mr. Harvey was President and
Chief Executive Officer of both Interwest Mining Company and PacifiCorp
Fuels. Mr. Harvey is a member of the Board of Directors of the National
Mining Association, the National Coal Council, and the Utah Mining
Association. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering from
the University of Utah. He is a former director of the Wasatch Crest
Mutual Insurance Company and has served on the Construction Board of the
College of Eastern Utah.
