Dendy Young

DENDY YOUNG is Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive
Officer of GTSI Corp., an information technology (IT) solutions leader
focusing exclusively on federal, state and local government customers
worldwide. An award-winning executive with more than 25 years experience
in the IT industry, Mr. Young is a member of the Government Information
Technology Executive Council Executive Advisory Committee. He is an
active member of the Industry Advisory Council and is a member of the
Board of Directors of the Indian High Tech CEO Council. He also serves
on the Board of Directors, class of 2001, of AFCEA, the Armed Forces
Communications and Electronics Association and on the Executive
Committee of the Board of the Northern Virginia Technology Council. Mr.
Young is active in community affairs, serving on the Board of Trustees
of the Landon School, a private boys school in Maryland. Prior to
assuming the helm at GTSI, Mr. Young served as Chief Executive Officer
of Falcon Microsystems, Inc., the second of two companies he founded and
sold between 1982 and 1994. In less than 10 years, Falcon Microsystems
grew to be a nationally recognized, multi-platform federal reseller and
integrator before being sold to GTSI in August 1994. After selling
Falcon Microsystems, he chaired IAC’s1995 ad hoc blue-ribbon committee
on Government and Industry Communications. The committee, which had
representation from both government agencies and the IT industry, issued
a landmark report which was used as the foundation for future ‘open
communications’ activities at subsequent IAC Executive Leadership
Conferences. Mr. Young holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer
Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from
the Harvard Business School.
