David L. Gaines

David L. Gaines, 54, has been Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Park Sterling Corporation since its formation, and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the bank since its public offering. He was the Deputy and then Chief Risk Officer for Corporate and Investment Banking at Wachovia Corporation from September 2001 to November 2006. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President and Comptroller of Wachovia Corporation from July 2000 to September 2001. Other Wachovia experiences include the coordination of the Merger Integration Project Office for the Wachovia-First Union merger, leadership of risk management for Wachovia Capital Markets and U.S. Corporate Banking, and various geographically based relationship-management positions. Mr. Gaines has over 25 years of banking experience.
