Anthony J. Bettencourt

ANTHONY J. BETTENCOURT III, President at Verity, Inc, joined the company
in July 1995 as Vice President of North American sales. He was
subsequently promoted to Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing
and served in this position until his departure in December 1996. Mr.
Bettencourt rejoined Verity in September 1997 as Senior Vice President,
Worldwide Sales and Product Marketing, and was appointed to the position
of President in September 1999. Prior to initially joining Verity, Mr.
Bettencourt served as Vice President of Sales for Versant Object
Technology from 1992 to June 1995 and as Director of US sales from July
1990 to 1992. From December 1988 to July 1990, Mr. Bettencourt served as
Vice President of Sales for Rockwell CMC. Mr. Bettencourt holds a BA
from Santa Clara University.
