An Internet Visionary Who

An Internet visionary who has been instrumental in the rebirth of push
technology, ELI BARKAT is also well known for his remarkable history as
an Israeli paratrooper. He is a co-founder of BackWeb and has served as
its CEO since its inception in 1995. Mr. Barkat’s vision of BackWeb was
to create eBusiness solutions that incorporate the company’s patented
Polite push technology infrastructure. Before founding the company, he
held key software development positions in Israel with Aurec and Daizix
Technologies developing CAD applications for VLSI design. He served as a
paratrooper in the Israel Defense Forces and attained a rank of
Lieutenant. Mr. Barkat holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and
Mathematics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
