WILLIAM J. CADOGAN is Chairman of the Board, President and CEO of ADC
Telecommunications, Inc., Minneapolis, Minnesota. Mr. Cadogan joined ADC
in 1987 as Vice President, Private Network Marketing. He was promoted to
Vice President, Product Development and subsequently was named Senior
Vice President, Telecom Group. In May of 1990, he was appointed
President and COO of ADC, and was elected President and CEO in July of
1991. In February of 1994, Mr. Cadogan was elected Chairman of the Board
of Directors. Mr. Cadogan joined ADC from the International
Telecommunications Satellite Organization (Intelsat) in Washington, DC,
where he was General Manager of Business Development. His extensive
background in the telecommunications industry includes 15 years with
AT&T, where he held a variety of sales and marketing positions; he last
served as Regional Sales Manager in the northeastern US for AT&T. Mr.
Cadogan holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern
University, Boston, Massachusetts, and an MBA from the Wharton School at
the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Mr. Cadogan has also
been very active in the high technology venture capital arena. He
currently serves on the Board and is an investor in Siara Corporation, a
broadband Internet transmission company and Agiliti.com, an Internet
applications software development company. Mr. Cadogan is a member of
the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) and currently serves
as Chairman of that organization. He is also a member of the Board of
Governors of the Electronics Industries Alliance (EIA). Mr. Cadogan
serves on the Board of Directors of Pentair, Inc., an industrial
products company; National Computer Systems, Inc., a global information
services company; the Metropolitan Economic Development Association
(MEDA); the Board of Overseers of the Carlson School of Management at
the University of Minnesota and the Minnesota Orchestral Association
