JAMES L. ZIEMER is the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for
Harley-Davidson, Inc. He was promoted to that position in January 1991,
and, in that capacity, is responsible for the strategic financial
direction of the corporation as well as investor relations. Prior to
this appointment, Jim Ziemer served as Vice President/Controller from
1988 to 1991, in addition to service in numerous other positions since
joining the company in 1972. He started in Manufacturing and has also
worked in engineering and parts and accessories. He holds a B.B.A. in
Accounting which he received in 1975 and an M.B.A. received in 1986
from the University of Wisconsin. He is also a C.P.A. He is a member of
the Financial Council for the manufacturers Alliance for Productivity
and Innovation (MAPI) and a member of the Financial Institute. He is the
President of the Harley-Davidson Foundation and a past Board Member of
the Greater Milwaukee Education Trust, a Board Member of Junior
Achievement, and a member of the Steering Committee for the University
of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Education Campaign for Continuing
