THOMAS G. WIGGANS has served as President, Chief Executive Officer and a
Director of Connetics Corporation since July 1994, contributing over 25
years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. Prior to joining
Connetics, Mr. Wiggans was President and Chief Operating Officer of
CytoTherapeutics from 1992 to 1994. From 1980 to 1992, he held various
positions at Ares-Serono Group, including President of its US
pharmaceutical operations and Managing Director of its UK pharmaceutical
operations. Mr. Wiggans also served in various sales and marketing
positions with Eli Lilly & Co. Currently he is a Director of the
Biotechnology Industry Organization and a governing member of its
emerging company section. Mr. Wiggans is a Director of Paladin Labs,
Inc. and DJ Pharma, Inc. He holds a BS from the University of Kansas and
