Having qualified as a chartered accountant in 1973, MARK ANSELL became a
partner in 1977. In April 1997, when Mark left the profession, he was
partner-in-large of Corporate Finance of Deloitte & Touche in the
Midlands. Deloitte & Touche is an international firm of chartered
accountants who are the sixth largest in the world and the UK. Mark has
been Birmingham based and is particularly well known locally for his
expertise on corporate finance and advisory services. He acted for a
wide portfolio of clients, including PLC's and private businesses. In
April 1977, Mark became Finance Director of Aston Villa plc immediately
prior to its flotation and he has retained a small number of non-
executive directorships and consultancies. Mark lives in Four Oaks,
Sutton Coldfield with his wife, Sheila, who is also a chartered
accountant. He is past chairman of City of Birmingham Round Table, a
past treasurer of Birmingham Rotary Club, and a member of both Walmley
Golf Club and Four Oaks Tennis Club. Profile
