Stephen Unger is a Director and Senior Analyst at Lazard Capital Markets, where he covers the life science tools & diagnostics sector. This sector includes companies within the clinical diagnostics, research equipment & supplies, and drug development services industries. Prior to joining Lazard Capital Markets in October 2009, Mr. Unger was a Managing Director at Bear Stearns, where he covered the pharmaceutical services, life science tools, health care information technology and health care distribution sectors. He was recognized as one of Bear's "Top 5 Analysts" for stock-picking performance for five straight years (2004-2008), an achievement matched by no other analyst in the firm's last 10 years. Mr. Unger was also a Health Care Analyst at Balyasny Asset Management. Prior to his arrival at Bear Stearns in 1998, he spent one year with Piper Jaffray and four years with Deloitte & Touche in Minneapolis.
