Martin E. Stein Jr. is the Chairman of the board and Chief Executive Officer of Regency Centers Corporation. He's served as the company's Chief Executive Officer from its initial public offering in October 1993 and as Chairman since January 1999. He also served as President of its predecessor real estate division, beginning in 1981, and as Vice President from 1976 to 1981. Mr. Stein is a Director and member of the compensation and corporate governance committees of Patriot Transportation Holding, Inc., a publicly held transportation and real estate company, and of Stein Mart, Inc., a publicly held upscale discount retailer. He is a past Chairman of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts, and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Urban Land Institute and the Real Estate Roundtable.
