JAYAKRISHNAN NAIR, President and Chief Financial Officer of Ratner Biomedical
Inc., has experience in managing projects and engaging in research for leading
technology entities such as Microsoft, NASA Jet Propulsion Labs, and IBM. He is
also a successful real estate entrepreneur in the greater Puget Sound area.
During the five plus years he worked for Microsoft, he has managed global teams
of more than two dozen engineers, led extensive usability studies and
competitive evaluations for new technologies in the CRM space, and has also led
strategic negotiations for site licenses worth millions of dollars with other
software companies. He has published research papers on fault tolerance in NASA
space applications, and holds an "Erdos Number 2," a distinguished honor for
mathematicians. He is the recipient of many awards and honors for academic
excellence, including a nomination for the highly prestigious "National
Innovation Potential Award" for year 2000, for the patented invention of a
medical device that enables paralyzed patients to control all essential electric
devices, through speech recognition. He has a strong passion for channeling
innovative medical devices into market, and improving health care. Mr. Nair
holds a B.Tech in Electronics and Communications Engineering (distinction) from
the University of Kerala, India, an MS in Computer Engineering (honors) from the
University of Massachusetts-Amherst, and an MBA in Technology Management
(honors) from the University of Washington-Seattle, wherein his graduating merit
was also recognized with a rollover PhD admission in International Business. Profile
