Eli E. Hertz – Hertz Technology Group Inc (herz)

ELI E. HERTZ, 50, a recognized pioneer in the personal computer industry, is the Founder, President and CEO of Hertz Technology Group, Inc. The company is comprised of four subsidiaries dedicated to providing a full range of technology-based solutions for efficient workspace environments (RemoteIT.com; Hergo Ergonomic Support Systems, Inc.; Hertz Computer Corporation; and Edutec Training Facilities). Hertz is responsible for overall management, strategic planning and new product development. Mr. Hertz has authored many industry-related articles and books. Most notably, his bestseller, 'Now That I Have OS/2 2.0 On My Computer, What Do I Do Next?' (1994, Van Nostrand Reinhold), discusses IBM's then newly created operating system. Marketing Computers, an ADWEEK magazine, called him the 'Zelig' of the computer industry: 'Able to shift with industry changes, Hertz is a barometer for the future.' In 1982, he started Hertz Computer Corp., which has won numerous awards for product design excellence and outstanding performance and has received exceptional support from such prestigious industry publications as BYTE, PC Magazine, PC World and Computer Buyer's Guide. Prior to starting his own company, Mr. Hertz held a number of positions in the technology arena, including manufacturing and distribution. In 1979, he founded and was a member of the Executive Board of Whitney Associates, a U.S. company created to provide the U.S. Corps of Engineers with management support services for the design and construction of major airfield complexes in Israel. He also worked (1974-1978) for the Government of Israel in New York as a Systems Analyst and Computer Consultant. He arrived in the U.S. in 1974, after serving seven years in the Israel Defense Force. Mr. Hertz received an MBA in Management and BS in Management Science and Economics from Long Island University, and an advanced degree in Manpower Management from the Technion, the Israeli Institute of Technology. A resident of New York City, where he lives with his wife and three children, Mr. Hertz is active in numerous international, industry and community associations and panels, including: Joint High Level Advisory Panel to the U.S.- Israel Science & Technology Commission (U.S. Member, upon recommendation by Vice President Gore); The New York-Israel Economic Development Partnership (Advisory Board Member, appointed by New York State's Governor Pataki); The Manufacturers Association of the U.S. (Member); The Defense Manufactures & Suppliers Association Of America (Member); The Coalition for Government Procurement (Member); the Computer-Based Information System Advisory Board for the City University of New York, Queens College (Board Member).
