KRISTIN YATES, a Senior Portfolio Manager at Holt-Smith & Yates
Advisors, is the firm's Chief Equity Officer and she is the chair of the
Equity Investment Committee. Ms. yates has a BBA and MBA in Finance,
Investments and Banking from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is
a graduate of the selective Applied Securities Analysis Program that
gives students the opportunity to invest real money. Before starting
Holt-Smith & Yates Advisors in 1987, Ms. yates was Vice President and
Portfolio Manager for Firstar Asset Management from 1982 to 1987 as well
as Portfolio Manager for M&I Investment Management from 1980 to 1982.
She received her CFA Charter in 1984 and is a member of the Association
of Investment Management and Research and the Madison Investment
Management Society. Her community involvement includes being a Board
member of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Alumni Association, a
Board member for the Mental Health Center of Dane County, and Treasurer
of the First Unitarian Foundation. She was a Chair of A Fund for Women,
Dane County's women's foundation, and a Director and Program Chair for
The Business Forum, a professional business and service group. In 1993,
Ms. yates received the Dane County Small Business Award for
distinguished service to the small business community. She was presented
with the UW Alumni Club of Madison's Badger Scholarship Achievement
Award in 1996. In 1999, Ms. yates was honored for being a 'bright new
star' and business leader of the next generation in an article called
'Women on Top' in Madison magazine. Profile
