WILLIAM P. PETERS is Chairman and CEO of Adherex Technologies Inc. He
has served on the faculty at Harvard University, Duke University and
Wayne State University. Dr. Peters originated the solid tumor high-dose
chemotherapy and bone marrow transplant program at the Dana-Farber
Cancer Institute, and was Director of Bone Marrow Transplantation,
Professor of Medicine at Duke University from 1984 to 1995 and was an
Associate Director of the Cancer Center. He then became President,
Director and CEO of the Karmanos Cancer Institute from 1995 to 2001 and
is currently President Emeritus. Simultaneously, he served as Associate
Dean for Cancer at Wayne State University and Senior Vice President for
Cancer Services at the Detroit Medical Center. In 2001, he organized the
Institute for Strategic Analysis and Innovation at the Detroit Medical
Center of which he served as President. Dr. Peters has three Bachelor's
degrees (Biochemistry, Biophysics and Philosophy) from the Pennsylvania
State University, received his MPhil, MD and PhD degrees from the
Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York and
trained clinically at Harvard University Medical School's Brigham and
Women's Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston,
Massachusetts. He is board certified in internal medicine and medical
oncology. He earned his MBA at the Duke University Fuqua School of
