DR. STEVEN A. GOULD is a founding member of the scientific team at
Northfield Laboratories Inc. and has served as the Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer of Northfield since July 2002. From July 1993 to July
2002, Dr. Gould served as President and a Director of Northfield. Prior
to that time, Dr. Gould served as a Consultant and Principal
Investigator for Northfield's clinical trials. From 1989 to 1993, Dr.
Gould served as Chief of the Department of Surgery of Michael Reese
Hospital. Since 1990, Dr. Gould has also served as Professor of Surgery,
nonsalaried, at the University Of Illinois College Of Medicine. From
1979 through 1989, Dr. Gould was Assistant Professor and then Associate
Professor in the Department of Surgery at The University of Chicago
School of Medicine. Dr. Gould has been involved in development of
national transfusion policy through his participation in the activities
of the National Heart Lung Blood Institute, the National Blood Resource
Education Panel, the Department of Defense, the American Association of
Blood Banks, the American College of Surgeons and The American Red
Cross. Dr. Gould received his MD degree from the Boston University
