DAVID NOBLE – AMERICAN EQUITY INVESTMENT LIFE HOLDING COMPANY (AEL)

DAVID J. NOBLE is Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of American Equity Investment Life Holding Company. Mr. Noble formed the company, started from scratch in December of 1995, and through its subsidiaries, American Equity Investment Life Insurance Company, is now licensed to conduct business in 47 states plus the District of Columbia. Mr. Noble has been active in the insurance industry since 1949; he has held various senior executive positions with several prestigious insurance firms during his career. In 1972, Mr. Noble left his position of Senior Financial Officer of General United Life to accept a position in Alabama as a Director, Executive Vice President and Treasurer of Statesman Life Insurance Company. Statesman consolidated with Vulcan Life Insurance Company in 1974 and in 1976 acquired a major interest in The Statesman Group, Inc., and ultimately consolidated. Mr. Noble served as Chairman, CEO and President of The Statesman Group, Inc., and Chairman of its subsidiary, American Life and Casualty Insurance Company. In September 1994, The Statesman Group, Inc., was sold in a cash transaction. Mr. Noble was named Ernst & Young Financial Services Entrepreneur of the Year in 1999 for the Iowa and Nebraska regions.
