EUGENE R. MALLETTE is Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board
of Directors of Alpine Air Express, Inc. Mr. Mallette joined Alpine Air
in 1979 as Sales Manager. After successfully guiding the company to
profitability as its General Manager, Mr. Mallette subsequently acquired
all of the outstanding shares of the company in 1986. Executive, Mr.
Mallette continues to have hands-on operational control and is actively
engaged in day to day operations of each of the companies divisions. His
duties include coordinating flight, maintenance and ground operations
and directing aircraft acquisition, business development and long range
planning. Mr. Mallette oversees operations of the company from its base
in Provo, Utah, with frequent visits to all outstations. With a
background in finance and accounting, Mr. Mallette is uniquely prepared
to lead the company's continued growth. After earning a Bachelor of
Science degree in Business Administration from Carroll College in 1971,
Mr. Mallette practiced accounting and worked as a staff auditor for the
state of Montana. Armed with skills acquired in the practice of
accounting, Mr. Mallette connected his intuitive business acumen and
sound understanding of aviation and built a company that today remains
safe, efficient, debt-free, and continues to generate stable growth and
profitability. In addition to providing direction to the company as its
Chief Executive and Chairman, Mr. Mallette is an accomplished aviator.
He enjoys sport flying and has the distinction of owning and being
certified to pilot the North American P-51 Mustang, a vintage World War
II fighter aircraft. Mr. Mallette's P-51 is appropriately named "Sweet
Mary Lou" for his wife of more than 20 years. Mr. Mallette is active in
numerous civic, municipal and religious causes including, a term as
Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Better Business Bureau of Utah
County and past services to Provo City Chamber of Commerce as its Vice
President. Mr. Mallette is philanthropic to a number of local and
national charities including the Provo, Utah Boys and Girls Club. He has
attained a fourth degree in the Knights of Columbus. Profile
