HAROLD M. KORELL is Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive
Officer of Southwestern Energy Company. Mr. Korell was elected as
Chairman of the Board in May 2002 and has served as Chief Executive
Officer since January 1999 and President since October 1998. He joined
the company in 1997 as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating
Officer. From 1992 to 1997, he was employed by American Exploration
Company where he was most recently Senior Vice President-Operations.
From 1990 to 1992, he was Executive Vice President of McCormick
Resources and from 1973 to 1989 he held various positions with Tenneco
Oil Company, including Vice President, Production. A graduate of the
Colorado School of Mines with a professional degree in Chemical and
Petroleum Refining Engineering, he began his career with Mobil Oil
Corporation. Mr. Korell served as a Member of the National Petroleum
Council from June 2000 through June 2002, and is a member of the Society
of Petroleum Engineers, American Gas Association and Independent
Petroleum Association of America. Mr. Korell also serves on the
Executive Advisory Board for the Walton School of Business at the
