MICHAEL I. ROTH is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The MONY
Group Inc., a financial services holding company that provides a wide
range of protection, asset accumulation and retail brokerage products
and services through its member companies. Under Mr. Roth's leadership,
The MONY Group has diversified its business mix, broadened its
distribution channels and enhanced its ability to compete in today's
financial services marketplace. Mr. Roth began his career with the
company in 1989 as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer,
was named President and Chief Operating Officer in 1991, and became
Chairman and CEO in 1993. He joined MONY from Primerica Corporation,
where he held several high-level positions during his six-year tenure,
the most recent being Executive Vice President and Chief Financial
Officer. Prior to Primerica, he was a Partner at Coopers & Lybrand. A
Certified Public Accountant, Mr. Roth holds an LLM degree from New York
University Law School and a JD from Boston University Law School. He is
a 1967 graduate of the City College of New York. Mr. Roth is a member of
the Board of Directors for both Pitney Bowes Inc. and The Interpublic
Group of Companies. In addition to his position at IMSA, he also serves
on the boards of the American Council of Life Insurance and the Life
Insurance Council of New York. Mr. Roth also participates in several
civic organizations. He sits on the Leadership Committee of Lincoln
Center for the Performing Arts; the United Way of Tri-State Board of
Governors; and the Board of Directors of the Committee to Encourage
Corporate Philanthropy. In addition, he is a director of The
Partnership for New York City; The Enterprise Foundation; and the
Metropolitan Development Association of Syracuse and Central New York.
He is also a Board member of the Twin Towers Fund, an organization
created to benefit the families of the rescue worker victims of the
September 11, 2001, World Trade Center attacks. Profile
