MARVIN R. BANKS JR. is Senior Vice President, Secretary and Chief
Financial Officer of Gables Residential Trust and has served in this
capacity since the Company's IPO in 1994. He is responsible for
strategic capital planning, corporate financings, financial reporting
and all accounting and tax issues. Mr. Banks joined the company's
predecessor, Trammell Crow Residential, in 1987 and from 1990 was the
Chief Financial Officer for certain divisions. Prior to joining Trammell
Crow Residential, he was a CPA with Ernst & Young, where he specialized
in the financial services and construction industries. Mr. Banks is a
graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor's degree

Mr. Banks: Gables was founded over 20 years ago as an
