JOHN M. FOX has been President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of
the Board of Directors of MarkWest Hydrocarbons, Inc., since its
inception in April 1988. Mr. Fox was a founder of Western Gas Resources,
Inc., a company listed on the New York Stock Exchange, and was its
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer from 1972 to 1986.
Mr. Fox holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from the United States
Air Force Academy and a Master of Business Administration degree from
