CHARLES W. FEDERICO joined Orthofix Inc. in October 1996 as Senior Vice
President of Orthofix International NV and President of its subsidiary,
Orthofix Inc., based in Huntersville, North Carolina. Mr. Federico is a
member of the Boards of Directors for Orthofix International NV and
Orthofix Inc. In January 2001, Mr. Federico became Group President and
Chief Executive Officer of Orthofix NV. Prior to joining Orthofix, he
served as President of Smith & Nephew Endoscopy (formerly Dyonics, Inc.)
from 1981-1996. During this period, Dyonics achieved a worldwide
dominant market position in arthroscopy and grew its annual sales from
$4 million to $250 million. Mr. Federico has over 30 years of experience
in the medical device industry with a particular expertise in
international sales and marketing. He holds a BS in Marketing from
