JOHN K. HENRY has been Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer
and Secretary of Duane Reade, Inc. since August 1999. Prior to joining
Duane Reade, Mr. Henry was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial
Officer of HPD Holding Corp., d/b/a Global Household Brands, from 1998
to 1999; Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Rickel
Home Centers from 1994 to 1998; and Vice President of Finance of
Supermarkets General Holdings Corporation from 1992 to 1994. Profile
ANTHONY J. CUTI has been Chairman, President and Chief Executive
Officer since April 1996 of Duane Reade Inc., New York's largest
chain drug retailer. In June 1997 Mr. Cuti led management,
together with DLJ, in the purchase of Bain Capital's ownership of
Duane Reade. In February 1998 Duane Reade successfully launched
an initial public offering of its stock which trades on the New
York Stock Exchange under the symbol 'DRD'. Mr. Cuti is a
graduate of Rutgers University and holds an MBA from Fairleigh
Dickinson University. He began his career as a research
pharmacologist for the Ciba-Geigy Corporation in 1967. He joined
Arthur Andersen in 1971 and was licensed as a Certified Public
Accountant in New York State. Mr. Cuti joined Revlon in 1972 and
during the ensuing 12 years he held progressively more
responsible positions and was named Chief Financial Officer of
the Revlon Healthcare Group in 1980. In 1984 he was recruited by
the Bristol Myers Corporation to serve as Chief Financial Officer
of the Bristol Myers International Group. In 1990 he joined
Supermarkets General Corporation, operator of Pathmark Stores,
and in 1993 was named President of Supermarkets General and
Pathmark and a Director of the company's Board. During Mr. Cuti's
tenure, Duane Reade has grown from a 59-store chain to a 234-
store chain generating approximately $1.3 billion in sales
revenue with the number one market share in the metropolitan New
