Peter Bissonnette – Shaw Communications Inc (sjr)

PETER BISSONNETTE was appointed President of Shaw Communications Inc. in December 2000. He has overall responsibility for Shaw's cable systems in Canada and the United States, as well as for its satellite and uplink undertakings, StarChoice and Cancom. Prior to this he was appointed President, Shaw Cablesystems G.P., and Senior Vice President, Operations for Shaw Communications Inc. across Canada in 1999 after being in various senior management positions in Vancouver, Toronto and Calgary for 10 years. During his role as Vice President, Operations for Toronto, Mr. Bissonnette played a key role in the integration of approximately $1 billion in cable assets, which Shaw acquired through the purchase of CUC Broadcasting Ltd. and Classicom Communications Ltd. Before joining Shaw, Mr. Bissonnette worked over 20 years in the telecommunications industry; three years in the Royal Canadian Air Force; 13 years in BC Telephone; and eight years in senior management positions in the cable industry. Mr. Bissonnette is a graduate in Business Administration from Vancouver Community College, holds an Executive Management Certificate from the University of British Columbia, and is a graduate of the Executive Management Program at Queen's University.
