KEVIN G. CHAMPAGNE is President and Chief Executive Officer of Seacoast
Financial Service Corporation and CompassBank. Mr. Champagne joined
CompassBank in 1971 in the management and training program. He advanced
to become the head of the Retail Banking Division and in 1984 became
Senior Vice President. He was named President and CEO by the Board of
Directors in 1993. Mr. Champagne is very active in community and civic
organizations. He serves as a director on numerous boards, including the
Massachusetts Bankers Association; Savings Bank Life Insurance, Inc.;
the YMCA of Greater New Bedford; the Foundation of University of
Massachusetts, Dartmouth; and the Buttonwood Park Zoological Society. He
is a member of the New Bedford Airport Commission and the Small Business
Loan Review Board of Southeastern Massachusetts. He serves on the
Advisory Committee to the Provincial, Sacred Heart Fathers and is a
trustee for the Student Emergency Aid Fund for the University of The
Massachusetts, Dartmouth. Mr. Champagne served with the U.S. Army
National Guard from 1971 to 1977. Mr. Champagne is a graduate of both
the Executive Development and the School of Savings Banking programs at
Fairfield University. He holds a bachelor of science degree in
