"Enron was a big winner last year," comments this Wall Streeter.

"This company has just been very adept at identifying major shifts in the marketplace and in the deregulation of energy markets globally, particularly in developed economies like Europe and the US. They're also continuing to attack the privatization of energy markets in less developed countries in Asia and Latin America, where governments are looking for investment. More recently, Enron (NYSE:ENE) has been able to capitalize on the broadband telecommunications angle by extending their strength in electricity to communications. So Enron is probably the most adept at recognizing these major market changes and taking advantage of the financial market response in these areas. They seem to redirect their efforts into higher-growth areas that the stock market also views as high-growth."
