Harlan Sur is the Senior Analyst covering the small and midcap semiconductor, semiconductor capital equipment and storage hardware (HDD) sectors at J.P. Morgan. Mr. Sur joined J.P. Morgan in 2009. Prior to that, Mr. Sur spent eight years at Morgan Stanley co-covering/covering the semiconductor sector with a primary focus on communications semiconductor companies, and in 2006 became the Lead Analyst covering the semiconductor capital equipment sector. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Mr. Sur spent 11 years in the semiconductor industry in various engineering/engineering management positions in manufacturing and chip design at Samsung Semiconductor and VLSI Technology, and business roles such as Product Marketing Manager for wireless semiconductor products at Philips Semiconductor. Mr. Sur is the primary/co-inventor on 19 U.S. patents in areas of semiconductor manufacturing and design.
