Ivor Ruste, FCA, is the Executive Vice President and CFO of Cenovus Energy Inc. He oversees a team responsible for the company's financial functions, including comptrollers, treasury, tax, financial risk and enterprise risk reporting, acquisitions and divestitures, and Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance. He is also responsible for Cenovus’ reserves governance and portfolio management. Mr. Ruste joined Cenovus Energy's predecessor company in 2006 and was just prior to the split Executive Vice President, Corporate Responsibility and Chief Risk Officer. Mr. Ruste graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, with distinction, from the University of Alberta and is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA). From 1998 to 2006, he was the Managing Partner of the Edmonton office of KPMG LLP and was also the Alberta Regional Managing Partner and Vice Chair of the KPMG Canada board of directors. He is a member of the Canadian and Alberta Institutes of Chartered Accountants and a member of the board of directors and Audit Committee Chair for Stantec. He also serves as a member of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers board of governors and as a member of the Audit Committee for the Province of Alberta. He has served on the boards of or in leadership positions with organizations including the University of Alberta, Grant MacEwan University, United Way, the Edmonton Symphony Foundation, and the Young Presidents' Organization as well as other professional organizations and committees throughout his career.
